Measures against COVID

This season, the Ordino Arcalís ski resort will have one of the safest environments in terms of prevention measures against the Covid-19. Thanks to the Comú de Ordino, the parish will become the first town in Europe to certify the prevention measures against Covid-19 in the resort, tourist accommodation, restaurants, shops and hotels that want to join and obtain the GSS quality seal from Bureau Veritas.

The certifying company based in Barcelona will audit all the premises associated with the plan and will award two seals, the Global Safe Site seal, based on the protection of people, processes and facilities, or the Safe Space seal for establishments of lesser structure.

This initiative by the Ordino Town Council is in addition to the guarantees implemented from the ski resort so that customers can continue to enjoy the snow in a totally safe environment. The measures we will implement are detailed below.

  • It is not necessary for customers to cover their faces when skiing or snowboarding down the slopes but it is recommended.
  • No longer mandatory to wear a mask in enclosed spaces, buildings and common areas such as restaurants, schools, shops and ticket offices.

  • Customers are advised to book and make purchases online with accommodation at the grandvalira.com website. As well as guaranteeing the best price, all web purchases are covered by an official cancellation guarantee and a free refund.
  • We recommend using a Season Ski Pass or a Ski Pass Plus+ , both of which allow customers to go directly to the lift without having to go through the ticket offices.

  • A capacity limit is not set on the opened and ventilated lifts.
  • 100% capacity is permitted in the closed lifts (cabins) subject to the regulations established by the Government of Andorra with regard to public transport at all times.
  • The cable cars and buildings are treated using a photocatalytic system with a long-lasting effect that eliminates viruses and bacteria from all surfaces.

  • The cleaning and disinfection of common spaces is reinforced.
  • Air filtration systems are also be installed in the heating system air ducts.
  • There are hydroalcoholic gel dispensers in the cable car boarding areas as well as in resort buildings and restaurants.

  • The self-service system has therefore been improved, incorporating new sales machines and collection points for passes at the various access points to the resort.
  • Contactless and automatic cash machines for the payment with cash are recommended to avoid the staff having to handle cash

  • The use of paper maps and informative materials are minimised. The use of the Grandvalira and Ordino Arcalís Apps to stay informed and consult the slope map is advised. They work without having to be connected to the internet and include an audioguide.
  • Prior booking at the à la carte restaurants is also recommended.
FREE CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY

Grandvalira Resorts has an extensive list of hotels which have the COVID Guarantee with the aim of guaranteeing all customers a refund of the amount paid in their accommodation reservations, without any surcharges, provided that the following conditions are met:

RESTAURANTS

Masks are no longer mandatory for access to restaurants. Hand sanitiser is available at the entrance of the premises and there are much more frequent cleaning and disinfection. Restaurant menus are in QR format to avoid paper handling.
