Ordino Arcalís enhances nature-based experiences and the Tristaina Solar Viewpoint, whose access routes will open this Saturday
The expansion of e-bike routes to 114 km, the new Ossa sculpture at the top of Funicamp, the new Soldeu Maze and the Big Jump Park in El Tarter headline Grandvalira’s main new attractions
Grandvalira Resorts presented this morning its programme of family, outdoor, sports and gastronomic activities for the 2026 summer season during an event held at the Funicamp building in Encamp. The presentation featured Grandvalira Resorts Marketing Director David Ledesma, Ordino Arcalís Director Israel Ramonet, and Grandvalira Soldeu-El Tarter and Pal Arinsal Mountain Services Director Toni Rodríguez.
The season is marked by the launch of new family experiences, the growth of cycling-related activities and the consolidation of Andorra’s resorts as year-round active mountain destinations. Key highlights include two new trails at Pal Arinsal’s Bike Park and Bike World, the refurbishment of a third trail, the extension of Grandvalira’s e-bike network to 114 kilometres, the new Ossa d’Encamp sculpture at the top of Funicamp, the new Maze at the Soldeu platform, the Big Jump Park in El Tarter and new cultural and digital experiences across the resorts.
“In Andorra, we now have the most complete, diverse and attractive offering in our history. Many initiatives have emerged from the mountain resorts, but we must also acknowledge the proposals driven by local councils and institutions,” said Ledesma. The goal for the season is “to surpass 176,000 visitors and strengthen customer loyalty through longer stays.”
The summer season will officially begin this Saturday, 6 June, with the opening of access to the Tristaina Solar Viewpoint at Ordino Arcalís. Pal Arinsal will launch its season on 20 June alongside the ANDbike Festival and the Catalan Downhill Cup “Trofeo Warriors 2.0”, while Grandvalira will open its main attractions on the same date with the Mon(t) Magic Family Park in Canillo, Golf Soldeu and the activation of much of its family and e-bike offering.
The unique accommodation at Las Cabanas by Serras Collection will be available from 19 June; the Refugio del Lago de Pessons Restaurant will open on 4 July, while Funicamp will begin operations on 11 July.
Pal Arinsal consolidates its international MTB leadership
The La Massana resort will once again be one of the leading mountain biking hubs in the Pyrenees this summer, with new additions to its Bike Park and a top-level international sporting calendar.
Among the highlights is the new Blavet Trail, a blue-level track that complements the Bike Park’s extensive network of more than 60 km of routes, one of the most prestigious bike parks in the world. In addition, the Commencal Inferior Trail has been upgraded to further improve the route leading down to the village of La Massana.
Meanwhile, Bike World, last summer’s major innovation focused on MTB development and training, introduces the new Green Gravity Descent area. This route connects the upper section of the Bike Park with the base area and strengthens the offering for both experienced riders and beginners or family groups. It complements the cycling training opportunities available through the resort’s school, summer camps and the Furious Club, which aims to nurture young cycling talent in Andorra.
At the same time, La Massana will once again host major sporting events including the Catalan Cup Trofeo Warriors 2.0 and the ANDbike Festival (20–21 June), the Andorra MoraBanc Clàssica (21 June), the Andorra Epic (from 2 July to 5 July) and, most notably, the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup (from 9 July to 12 July), which “consolidate Pal Arinsal’s international positioning as the mountain biking capital of the Pyrenees,” said Rodríguez.
Ordino Arcalís strengthens family nature experiences
Ordino Arcalís will once again be the first Grandvalira Resorts destination to open this summer with access to the Tristaina Solar Viewpoint starting this Saturday, 6 June.
The resort continues to focus on experiencing nature through tranquillity and connection with the environment, with the viewpoint serving as the central attraction of its summer offering while reinforcing family-oriented experiences.
“Since opening in 2021, it has welcomed more than 460,000 visitors, and we expect to surpass half a million this summer,” highlighted Ramonet.
One of the season’s innovations is the introduction of a digital pass for lift access. Visitors will be able to purchase tickets through digital channels and access the Creussans chairlift and Tristaina gondola directly. This initiative will save more than 80,000 physical plastic cards.
In addition, a new Wi-Fi access point has been installed at the Tristaina Solar Viewpoint, located at 2,701 metres above sea level, and access to the souvenir photo from the Creussans chairlift has been simplified through a QR code allowing direct download to mobile devices.
Ordino Arcalís will also continue to expand its guided experiences with Grandvalira Mountain Guides, including sunrise outings to the Solar Viewpoint, the circular Tristaina Lakes route and the traditional observation of the solar phenomenon at Tristaina Peak on 7 August.
Grandvalira strengthens its family offering with the Soldeu Maze and Big Jump Park
One of the season’s major additions is the new Soldeu Maze, an immersive experience integrated into the natural surroundings that will transform the Soldeu platform into a large area for exploration, play and adventure.
This interactive wooden route features orientation challenges, hidden clues, secret areas and a family treasure hunt set in a mountain environment. Designed for all ages, the experience lasts between 30 and 45 minutes and has been conceived to evolve with future themes, night-time activities and treasure hunts.
Another new attraction is the Big Jump Park in El Tarter, a large outdoor inflatable zone covering more than 800 m² and located in the sector’s car park. The area combines jumps, obstacles, physical challenges and dynamic circuits designed especially for families, teenagers and groups of friends. With music, a festive atmosphere and visually striking features, the Big Jump Park aims to become one of the liveliest spots of the summer.
These new attractions complement Grandvalira’s extensive family and adventure offering, which also includes the Mon(t) Magic Family Park in Canillo and guided excursions with Grandvalira Mountain Guides to Lake Pessons and Abelletes Lake, among others.
In addition, Golf Soldeu, Europe’s highest-altitude 9-hole golf course, introduces a new floating green in the middle of its practice lake, adding a fun and competitive element and offering players the unique challenge of achieving a spectacular hole-in-one surrounded by water.
Connecting culture and territory through the Ossa d’Encamp
Funicamp will introduce a new cultural attraction this summer linked to the Ossa d’Encamp, recognised as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.
The main feature will be a new sculpture located at the top of Funicamp, representing a female bear approximately three metres high.
The sculpture will serve as the final point of the new “Petjades Enlairades” (Elevated Footprints) trail, which will reinforce the local legend and transform the visit into an experiential route connected to the territory and local culture. The project has been developed jointly with the Comú d’Encamp.
Grandvalira will also strengthen mobility services with two new 4x4 vehicles, each with capacity for 21 passengers, operating the routes between Grau Roig and Pessons and between Solanelles and Orri de Cubil.
More than 114 km of e-bike routes with three new circuits
Cycling remains one of Grandvalira’s main summer pillars. This year, its e-bike network expands to 114 km, adding 9 new kilometres and three additional routes.
Among the new additions are the Cabirol Loop, a family-friendly green route at Pla d’Espiolets featuring interactive wooden games; the Molleres Loop at El Forn de Canillo; and the new Tamarro Flow Trail, a blue-level route of nearly 6 km connecting the Llosada area to the base of El Tarter through a smooth and accessible descent.
The network will continue to link the sectors of Canillo, Soldeu, El Tarter, Encamp and Grau Roig, reinforcing Grandvalira’s position as one of the largest e-bike destinations in the Pyrenees.
Gastronomy strengthens its role as a key attraction
Gastronomy will remain one of the cornerstones of the summer experience at Grandvalira Resorts, with an offering that combines quality cuisine, local produce and unique natural settings. The different resorts continue to enhance a gastronomic proposition designed to make dining a reason in itself to visit the mountains during the summer months.
In Grandvalira, the Soldeu sector will once again feature the Wine & Meat Bar by Jean Leon, one of the resort’s most distinctive dining venues, offering grilled meats, selected wines and a terrace with outstanding views. The experience will be complemented by the mini-golf course at the Petroni Terrace, reinforcing its position as a meeting point for families and groups.
In the Encamp sector, Racó de Solanelles will continue offering café and restaurant services at the top of Funicamp, specialising in grilled meats and informal mountain dining in the Cortals Valley.
In Grau Roig, the Refugio del Lago de Pessons will once again stand out as one of the country’s most iconic dining destinations, surrounded by lakes and high-mountain landscapes and accessible both on foot and via the new 4x4 vehicles. Visitors seeking a complete experience can also enjoy premium accommodation at Las Cabanas by Serras Collection.
At Ordino Arcalís, La Coma Restaurant and La Coma Fast Food, open since 16 May, continue to be key summer dining venues, serving both visitors to the Tristaina Solar Viewpoint and hikers and cyclists exploring the area. Meanwhile, the Sorteny Refuge continues to offer accommodation and dining services in one of Andorra’s most remarkable natural settings, the Sorteny Natural Park, which welcomed more than 22,000 visitors last summer.
Pal Arinsal completes the gastronomic offering with venues such as Xiringuito de la Caubella and Expresso, creating a dining experience designed to complement Bike Park sessions, family activities and international MTB competitions.
The gastronomic offering continues to establish itself as one of the main drivers of tourism within a summer programme through which Grandvalira Resorts further reinforces its commitment to making dining an essential part of a leading mountain destination during the summer season.
