Grandvalira consolidates itself as the e-bike territory and grows to 105 km of trails, completing the offer with the Soldeu Golf Course and the Mon(t) Magic Family Park in Canillo

Grandvalira Resorts presented this morning the line-up of adventure, family, and culinary activities for the summer 2025 season during an event held at the Rústic restaurant in the Pal Arinsal sector. The presentation included participation from the Marketing Director of Grandvalira Resorts, David Ledesma; the Director of Ordino Arcalís, Israel Ramonet; and the Director of Mountain Services for Grandvalira Soldeu – El Tarter and Pal Arinsal, Toni Rodríguez.

Once again, this summer the three Andorran resorts offer a broad range of options that reaffirm their commitment to year-round tourism, with mountain biking as a central theme thanks to highlights such as the creation of Bike World in Pal Arinsal and the expansion of the Grandvalira e-bike project to 105 km of trails, among other initiatives.

The summer in Andorra’s resorts will begin this very Saturday with the opening of access to the Tristaina Solar Viewpoint in Ordino Arcalís. Pal Arinsal will open the weekend of June 14–15, coinciding with the ANDBike Festival in La Massana and the Only Warriors by Commencal competition. Finally, the official summer kick-off in Grandvalira will take place on June 21 with the opening of the Mon(t) Magic Family Park in Canillo and the Soldeu Golf Course. Activity in Grau Roig will begin on June 28 with the opening of the Refugi del Llac de Pessons restaurant. Funicamp will open on July 12.

Pal Arinsal consolidates itself as the cycling capital with the new Bike World

La Massana’s resort once again places itself at the forefront of mountain biking with the launch of Bike World, a new themed area that redefines the two-wheel experience and reinforces its educational, recreational, and inclusive approach. This new space, designed for all ages and skill levels, features progressive circuits, educational elements, and discovery zones, creating an ideal environment to start and grow in the world of MTB in total safety. “With Bike World, we are making a strong educational proposal so that any beginner, young or adult, can end up enjoying our Bike Park, one of the best in Europe,” explained Toni Rodríguez.

Divided into six different areas, Bike World offers everything from the First Wheel, for children's first pedals, to the Green Gravity Descent, a smooth downhill ride through nature to improve technique with confidence. Noteworthy is the Bike Rules circuit, where children can learn the basics of traffic rules in a fun way, as well as Ride Challenge or Trail Boost, designed to improve downhill skills. The area also features the Refugi Explorers, an educational trail guided by the resort's official mascots, combining biking with discovering the natural environment.

Bike World will maintain its outdoor spirit with the Adventure Fun Zone, which includes the traditional ropes park, the Big Zip zipline, inflatables, and tubing for adrenaline lovers.

The opening of Bike World marks a new milestone for Pal Arinsal, reaffirming its status as one of the nerve centers for mountain biking in the Pyrenees, as demonstrated during the 2024 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships. In this context, the new space expands the Bike Park offering, which will once again operate over 60 km of downhill, enduro, and cross-country circuits, solidifying its position as one of the most prestigious parks in Europe and worldwide.

The Bike Park season will begin the weekend of June 14–16, coinciding with the opening of Bike World and the Only Warriors by Commencal downhill competition. Activity will ramp up with major events such as the new Andorra MoraBanc Clàssica (June 22nd), the Mountain Bike World Cup (July 9–13), and will culminate with a stage of La Vuelta a España on August 28 at La Caubella. “Hosting events like these puts us on the map and positions Pal and Andorra as global cycling destinations,” noted David Ledesma.

Grandvalira claims its position as e-bike territory with 105 km of marked trails Grandvalira is embracing summer with a strong commitment to electric cycling. The resort is expanding the Grandvalira e-bike project to 105 km of trails, including the new Commencal Track Cyclone, a circuit in the Soldeu sector with 450 meters of elevation gain and the beginning of a new partnership with the prestigious bike brand at the station. These trails, designed for both beginners and experienced riders, connect the sectors of Canillo, Soldeu, El Tarter, Encamp, and Grau Roig, with access via the Funicamp and the Canillo and Soldeu gondolas, and charging stations in each sector’s main areas.

Another novelty is that the Portelles chairlift in Canillo will allow riders to ascend with their e-bikes to the sector's highest point, from where several viewpoints and hiking routes are accessible. Two-wheel activities will coexist with offerings for all audiences.

In Canillo, the Mon(t) Magic Family Park reopens on June 21, with an early opening for groups starting June 16. Opening hours will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., extended to 7 p.m. from July 28 to August 31. The park offers different types of passes tailored to all ages. There are three access levels:

  • Basic Pass, including mini-golf, inflatables, tubing, Fornatura, and the Legends Trail (both renovated this year).
  • Únic Pass, which adds the Portella chairlift, Magic Gliss with virtual reality, acrojump, pedal cars, and other family attractions.
  • Adrenalina Pass, for thrill-seekers, includes the zipline, RedShark, and QuickFlight.

In Soldeu, the main attraction remains Europe’s highest 9-hole golf course (2,250 meters), open from June 21 to September 28, featuring a new mini-golf course on the Wine & Meat Bar by Jean Leon’s terrace—ideal for groups and families.

Encamp’s Funicamp will operate from July 12 to September 8, offering 4x4 excursions to Orri del Cubil and guided hikes through the Cortals Valley. As a new feature, there will be weekly guided climbs to the Clots de l’Aspra via ferrata every Thursday from the intermediate station. Kids aged 6 to 14 can also enjoy free catch-and-release fishing at the Cubil pond.

In Grau Roig, Lake Pessons will again be a key spot, with the restaurant reopening June 28 and accessible via 4x4 shuttle. Hiking routes and themed excursions led by Grandvalira Mountain Guides will return, focused on high-mountain lakes, flora, and fauna. In Pas de la Casa, remodeling work will take place this summer to better integrate the resort base with the village, including a new multifunctional building. Therefore, the usual summer lifts won’t operate, but access to the Abelletes pond is still recommended via the Costa Rodona route, suitable for families and general visitors.

With a wide and varied offer combining adventure, nature, and gastronomy, Grandvalira strengthens its position as a summer destination, showcasing the value of its territory beyond snow.

Tristaina Solar Viewpoint kicks off the summer season this Saturday

Ordino Arcalís will be the first Grandvalira Resorts station to start the summer. The Tristaina gondola and Creussans chairlift open this weekend, providing access once again to the Tristaina Solar Viewpoint—one of the most visited spots during summer.
“In the four years since its opening in July 2021, the viewpoint has received nearly 400,000 visitors, proving that we have a privileged setting that makes us unique,” said Israel Ramonet.

Both lifts will operate daily from June 21 to September 14, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Between June 7–20 and again from September 15 to November 2, the Tristaina gondola will only operate on weekends, from 8:45 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. During its operation, the final 4.5 km of the Coma road will be reserved exclusively for cyclists—further promoting Ordino Arcalís as a cycling area, having hosted Tour de France stages three times and La Vuelta a España five times.

Additionally, the Grandvalira Mountain Guides will offer two new guided tours in Ordino Arcalís: sunrise from the Tristaina Solar Viewpoint and a circular route around the Estanys de Tristaina. On August 7, they’ll once again guide visitors to witness the solar phenomenon at Pic d’Arcalís, where for a few minutes, the sun can be seen through the mountain.

The Refugi de Sorteny, open year-round, will again offer overnight stays, night watch, and lunch service from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. This spot is key for hiking routes and for exploring the Sorteny Natural Park, which welcomed 16,000 visitors last summer.

Culinary excellence continues throughout summer

Grandvalira Resorts’ summer gastronomy remains committed to quality, local products, and the exceptional natural environment—cementing itself as a core part of the overall mountain experience.
In Pal Arinsal, visitors can enjoy options like the Xiringuito de Pal or the Expresso Terrace. In Ordino Arcalís, the La Coma restaurant and its scenic terrace, as well as the Fast Food La Coma and Koikoi Terrace, provide something for everyone. In Grau Roig, the iconic Refugi del Llac de Pessons stands out as one of the country’s most emblematic culinary spots, surrounded by lakes and peaks.

In Canillo, the Xiringuito del Forn offers a variety of options to complement the Mon(t) Magic Family Park visit. In Encamp, the Racó de Solanelles with its burger joint and café serves Funicamp visitors in a privileged location above the Cortals Valley. In Soldeu, the renowned Wine & Meat Bar by Jean Leon, along with the café, caps off a day of sports and family fun with a unique dining experience. The overall offering spans the entire resort, proving that good cuisine is also a hallmark of Andorra’s summer mountains.
