FWT, one more year in Ordino Arcalís
This year, a total of 44 riders are competing in the Freeride World Tour in the men's and women's ski and snowboard categories. The Andorran ski resort of Ordino Arcalis is hosting a Freeride World Tour event for the eighth time in a row. The event will take place on February 2nd, as a weather margin is always given to the organisers, in order to allow them to choose the day with the best conditions.
In this competition, a jury of experts evaluates the riders’ descents through a points system, based on their different skills in each event. Athletes accumulate points and get their own individual podium position.
In addition, on February 5th, Ordino Arcalis will host one of the Freeride World Tour Junior events. In the U-16 category, the youngest riders will be able to demonstrate their potential, while sharing training and competition moments with professional riders.
Ordino Arcalís, the benchmark for freeride
The world circuit has five exclusive events, so it is a real privilege to be included in the calendar. Ordino Arcalis is one of the events that has been chosen by the organisation, which has always emphasised the guarantee of snow and the diversity of mountains within the ski area where the competition is held: “at Ordino Arcalis we have many options for routes, there is always good snow, and we maintain great relationships”.
The versatility of the slopes, as well as the facilities for the organisation and the riders, are some of the main reasons why it is one of the favourite stops for the riders and the organisation. Undoubtedly, Ordino Arcalis is the ski resort that is most committed to this type of skiing, and it has positioned itself in this regard as an international benchmark.
