With an economic investment of around 6 million euros, this state-of-the-art installation can transport up to 1000 people per hour. It has 20 cabins that can be expanded to 31, allowing it to transport 1600 people per hour. Each cabin has a capacity for 10 seated persons.
It is worth noting that, although the name pays tribute to the peak and glacial cirque of Tristaina, the cable car does not reach this area, which is intended to remain pristine as a mountain route. Therefore, the journey ends at Coma d’Arcalís.
The Tristania glacier is a natural marvel formed by three lakes, Estany Primer, Estany del Mig and Estany de Més Amunt, watched over by El Pic de Tristania mountain which reaches a height of 2,878 metres. This is one of Andorra's must-do trips, not only because of its beauty, but also because it is suitable for all levels and all the family.
The Tristaina glacial cirque hiking trail is a mountain route that takes around three hours, covering a distance of 4.5 km, with a total climb of 210 m.
The route starts in the La Coma sector, which can be reached by the Tristaina cable car. It is ideal for families with kids aged over 4 and is a great way for them to discover the mountain and its setting. Comfortable clothing and footwear are recommended.
On the trail you'll find descriptive panels with information on the geographical features, vegetation, flora, and fauna in the area.
