Andorra’s ski resorts open the season this Friday and will offer more than 150 km of slopes for the Immaculate Conception long weekend

Grandvalira will offer over 100 skiable km and expects to have full inter-sector ski connections from Saturday onwards.

The Pas de la Casa sector will open early with a pre-opening this Thursday, 4 December

Pal Arinsal will open on Friday with over 30 km of slopes, 90% of lifts operating, both sectors connected by the cable car, and the Winter Bike Park fully open.

Ordino Arcalís, which opened last Thursday, continues to expand its skiable area and will have 65% of its slopes open this weekend.

Andorra’s ski resorts are ready to officially launch the 2025–2026 ski season. Ordino Arcalís was the first to kick off the winter with its opening on Thursday, November 27, and tomorrow, Grandvalira will join in with a pre-opening of the Pas de la Casa sector. The general season opening across Andorra’s ski resorts will be this Friday, December 5, with all Grandvalira sectors and the Pal Arinsal resort starting operations. Across the three Grandvalira Resorts domains, over 150 km of slopes will be available, making it one of the most extensive ski offers in recent years for the Immaculate Conception holiday. This has been made possible thanks to November snowfalls and the work of technical teams and snowmaking networks.

Grandvalira will open one day earlier than planned with a pre-opening of the Pas de la Casa sector on Thursday, December 4. Skiers will enjoy a reduced price of €45 for the day pass, available exclusively at the two sector ticket offices. On Friday, the official opening will include the sectors of Soldeu, El Tarter, Canillo, Grau Roig and Encamp. From Saturday, the full inter-sector ski connection is expected to be available. In total, Grandvalira will offer more than 100 km of slopes during the holiday weekend. As usual, the number of open slopes will increase progressively as conditions allow. On Friday, a free circular shuttle bus will link Grau Roig and El Tarter to facilitate connections between Soldeu, El Tarter and Canillo, and the sectors of Encamp, Grau Roig and Pas de la Casa.

Pal Arinsal will also open this Friday as planned, offering more than 30 km of slopes and 90% of lifts operating, including the cable car linking both sectors. The skiable area will grow throughout the season as teams prepare additional slopes.

Ordino Arcalís, which opened last Thursday, will continue expanding its open terrain. Currently offering nearly 50% of its slopes, it will increase to 65% by the weekend.

Opening information will be updated on the resorts’ websites and social media channels.

Alternative activities and dining

Ordino Arcalís, Pal Arinsal and Grandvalira will once again offer a wide range of activities beyond skiing, as well as 86 dining spots nearly fully operational this weekend. Grandvalira will open mushing activities (El Tarter and Grau Roig), the Mon(t) Magic Family Park in Canillo (zip-line and Màgic Gliss), igloo building (Grau Roig), and guided snowshoe excursions.

Pal Arinsal will open the Winter Bike Park, offering five downhill MTB trails totalling 16 km and 700 m of vertical drop. Pal will also offer the Big Zip zip-line, tubbing, a sledding track, and guided snowshoe tours. In Ordino Arcalís, snowshoe excursions to Port del Rat and the Tristaina Solar Viewpoint will be available with Grandvalira Mountain Guides.

Gastronomy highlights include Wine & Meat Bar by Jean Leon (Soldeu), L’Abarset (El Tarter), La Trattoria (El Tarter), Refugi del Llac dels Pessons (Grau Roig), Racó de Solanelles (Encamp), as well as Piolet and Vodka Bar (Grau Roig), both run by Michelin-starred chef Nandu Jubany — who will also launch a new venue, Vacanal (Grau Roig). La Suculenta, another major novelty, will also open in Cubil (Grau Roig).

In Pal Arinsal, well-known venues such as Rústic de la Caubella (now with a new rotisserie concept), Coll de la Botella, Pla de la Cot and Terroir will open. In Ordino Arcalís, the main restaurant La Coma will be joined by Planells, l’Hortell, Kokoi and Refugi de les Portelles.

First major event at L’Abarset: Brunch Electronik

Grandvalira’s après-ski hotspot, L’Abarset, opened last Saturday with a highly successful preopening party. This Friday, it will host the first major event of the winter: Brunch Electronik, featuring Russian DJ Nina Kraviz, a global techno icon. The event will also include Quest, known for her British underground style. On Saturday, Syreeta and emerging artist Calvin Clarke will headline.

Weekly sessions return with Urban Sounds on Wednesdays, San Miguel Never Chill Thursdays, and the family-friendly Friends and Family on Sundays.

Super Snow Bowl at CBbC Costa Rodona

Pas de la Casa will host a major après-ski party this Saturday, December 6, at CBbC Costa Rodona: the Super Snow Bowl, featuring Pit Viper. The event will run from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. with DJs Discodelia Music and Blade, an American-football-themed atmosphere, a costume contest, gifts, prizes and plenty of surprises.
